GDIF Collaboration & Partnership Network

The Gilli Danda International Federation (GDIF) is dedicated to the global promotion of Gilli Danda as one of the world's oldest and most significant Traditional Sports and Games (TSG). In order to strengthen its international presence and ensure the sustainable development of this ancient heritage sport, GDIF has established strategic collaborations and partnerships with various International Sports Organizations, Traditional Sports Governing Bodies, and Educational Institutions.

GDIF’s collaborations aim to promote traditional sports and games globally while safeguarding the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) in alignment with the UNESCO Traditional Sports & Games (TSG) Movement.


🤝 International Collaborations & Partnerships


1. Asian Traditional Sports and Games Association (ATSGA)

Headquarters: Delhi, India
Status: Official Continental Unit
Role: Promoting Traditional Sports and Games in Asia

GDIF is a proud affiliated member of the Asian Traditional Sports and Games Association (ATSGA), which is the largest continental platform for the promotion of traditional games in Asia. Under this partnership, GDIF will:

  • Organize Asian Gilli Danda Championships under ATSGA patronage
  • Participate in the Asian Traditional Sports and Games Festival
  • Collaborate in Youth Development Programs for rural communities
  • Exchange technical expertise for game standardization

2. International Traditional Sports and Games Association (ITSGA)

Headquarters: Brittany, France 
Status: Global Partner Organization
Role: Protection, Promotion & Development of Intangible Cultural Heritage Sports Worldwide

GDIF is an Associated Member of ITSGA, which works for the revival of Indigenous and Traditional Sports worldwide. Through this collaboration, GDIF will:

  • Apply for the official recognition of Gilli Danda as an Intangible Cultural Heritage Sport under UNESCO
  • Participate in the World Traditional Sports and Games Festivals
  • Exchange ideas on Traditional Sports Education Programs
  • Promote Global Cultural Exchange Programs for Gilli Danda players

3. Traditional Sports and Games Federation of India (TSGFI)

Headquarters: New Delhi, India
Status: National Partner
Role: National Governing Body for Traditional Sports in India

GDIF is the official affiliated member of TSGFI, working for the promotion of Indigenous and Traditional Games across India. Under this partnership, GDIF will:

  • Organize National Gilli Danda Championships in India
  • Provide Training and Certification Programs for Gilli Danda Instructors and Referees
  • Support Rural Development Projects through Traditional Sports
  • Advocate for the inclusion of Traditional Sports in Indian Educational Curriculum

4. National Council of Sports Science and Physical Education (NCSPE)

Headquarters: New Delhi, India
Status: Academic Collaboration Partner
Role: Promoting Sports Education and Research

GDIF has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NCSPE to promote Traditional Sports Education and Research Programs across various schools, colleges, and universities. Through this collaboration, GDIF will:

  • Conduct Certificate and Diploma Courses in Gilli Danda Coaching & Refereeing
  • Organize Seminars, Conferences, and Sports Workshops
  • Develop Gilli Danda Training Manuals and Research Papers
  • Include Gilli Danda in Sports Curriculum for Physical Education Programs

5. General Association of World Sports Federations (GAWSF)

Headquarters: Macau, China 

Status: Associate Member 
Role: Global Sports Network Platform

GDIF is in the process of applying for membership with GAWSF, the global umbrella body representing more than 250 International Sports Federations. Once affiliated, GDIF will receive:

  • International recognition for Gilli Danda
  • Access to Global Sports Development Funds
  • Participation in World Sports Forums & Conferences
  • Technical Assistance for Global Event Management

6. International Sports Network Organisation (ISNO)

Headquarters: Switzerland
Status: Global Sports Network Partner
Role: International Sports Networking & Event Management

GDIF has partnered with the International Sports Network Organization (ISNO) to promote Gilli Danda International Championships and organize Global Traditional Sports Events. ISNO will provide:

  • Digital Media Promotion
  • International Sports Event Management Services
  • Sports Branding & Sponsorship Assistance
  • Athlete Development Programs

With these collaborations, GDIF is working towards making Gilli Danda an officially recognized Traditional Sport at the International Level and creating a Global Traditional Sports Movement.
