The Indian Gilli-Danda Federation (IGDF) has officially announced the National Gilli-Danda Tournament 2025-26, which will be organized in collaboration with the Indian Traditional Sports and Games Festival. The event is scheduled to take place in Ghaziabad, Delhi NCR, from 31 January to 1 February 2026.

This national tournament aims to bring together players, coaches, and traditional sports enthusiasts from across India to celebrate and promote Gilli-Danda, one of the country’s oldest and most culturally significant games. The collaboration with the Indian Traditional Sports and Games Festival ensures a broader platform that highlights India’s indigenous sports heritage.

The event will feature:

·        National-level Gilli-Danda competitions

·        Demonstrations of traditional Indian games

·        Cultural and heritage-based activities

·        Workshops and awareness sessions on traditional sports development

·        IGDF General Assembly & Executive Body Elections (2025–29)

With participation expected from multiple states and district units, the tournament aims to strengthen grassroots involvement and encourage youth engagement in traditional sports.
